KIO – Playful Objects and Childhood Classics
KIO is a project that reinterprets food, objects, and rituals from childhood and places them in a contemporary design context. It focuses on memories, sensory experiences, and the emotional value of everyday consumer objects. Based on classics such as ice cream, sweets, and gumball machines, durable products made of glass and porcelain are created. KIO is conceived as a mobile event spot that functions like a kiosk, fostering exchange, interaction, and shared experiences.
The Sugar Pearl draws on the form of the childhood candy necklace and translates it into a new material. What was once eaten is now worn. The result is pastel-colored porcelain beads that can be combined into necklaces, earrings, or bracelets—created to make memories visible and lastingly wearable.
The Glass Lick Shell exists in two phases: first as a sweet, then as glass. The candy disappears, the form remains. A small object for adults that transforms a fleeting childhood moment into something lasting.
